The Silent Presence Within - Weekend retreat with Paul Hurcomb in Oslo, Aug. 4th - 6th 2017 Welcome to this weekend of satsang and self inquiry with Paul Hurcomb in Oslo, August 4th - 6th 2017. Please read through this invitation carefully. The retreat booking form can be found at the bottom of the page.
In the midst of all the movement and experiences of life there is an unchanging, ever present stillness. This stillness is what we are, and is that in which all movement and experiences appear.
The purpose of this weekend is to meet together in stillness in order to discover the silent presence within. The retreat will include silent and guided meditations, guided self inquiry, open dialogue (Satsang), and walks in nature.
The weekend will also feature music from Radical Devotion, including a concert Saturday evening.
About Paul Hurcomb Paul spent 12 years as a practicing Buddhist until 2002 when in the midst of deep suffering he had a profound awakening from mind identity to presence. This experience profoundly changed his life and led him to leave his job as a school teacher in the UK to spend long periods of time in India where he met his master Sri Mooji who introduced him to the self inquiry teachings popularised by the great sage Ramana Maharshi.
Since 2011 Paul has been holding simple meetings and retreats with small groups of seekers mostly in Spain, Uk and Sweden.
About Radical Devotion Radical Devotion has been around since 2008 with concerts, chanting and sound healing. Trond Erland Sigvartsen and Linda Grahn is the core of Radical Devotion, and they sometimes feature other musicians as well.
They have played at retreats with Paul several times before, and bring a beautiful energy very supportive to the meetings.
Their music is directed toward stillness, meditation and awakening. A space where the human, earthly life can meet subtle and spiritual dimensions.
Radical Devotion will play for us before or after the satsang meetings during the weekend retreat, as well as a longer concert on Saturday evening.
Venue The retreat is held in a private home, and is non-residential.
There are 30 places available for this retreat, they will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. If there is a lot of interest, we will try to find a suitable, bigger space for the event.
Travel The venue is located about 20 minutes north of the city centre of Oslo.
